As part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, the Boroondara Leisure and Aquatic Facilities have organised a series of free activities for our senior members between Sundays 8 –15 October.
Now in its 35th year, the event recognises and celebrates the valuable contribution older people make to our community.
This year’s Festival theme is “You’re Welcome”. Regardless of background, experience or mobility, everyone is encouraged to take part to learn new skills and make new friends in their communities.
In keeping with this, our senior members are invited to bring a friend for free to any older adult’s class during the event.
Our centres are also running a variety of events including morning teas and additional walking sessions. On Tuesday 10 October, Hawthorn Aquatic & Leisure Centre is hosting presentation on Arthritis by Exercise Physiologist Aymee Bush.
Click here for a booklet which fully details the events taking place in our centres.
As part of the festival, free public transport is available for Victorian Seniors Card holders across the week. To plan your journey during the festival or for more information call 1800 800 007 or visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au.
Please contact us at Hawthorn Aquatic & Leisure Centre on (03) 8393 9500 if you have any questions about the event.
